I'm pleased that some in the press are comfortable with SI, here is one example in a trade magazine.
http://www.constructionequipmentguide.com/story.asp?story=5226&headline=Crews%20Begin%20Replacing%20Troup-Howell%20Span This is a link to an article about one of my projects. This freelance author took much of the info from our web site (www.trouphowellbridge.com). Much of the data on our site is in metric with some English equivalents. The author took the data and added a bit more English but included all of the relevant metric data. In this rare case it was not dumbed down and cleansed of its metric content. Interestingly some of the data about materials and equipment also includes metric units even though that data was not on my site. A direct quote from the Contractor's Sr. Project Manager was in metric and not converted (on a side note its nice to hear the field guys talk metric, shows how comfortable they are with it).
