Title: How can we get artists to think in metric?
There is an article in the San Francisco Chronicle about the giant Christos exhibit that is filled with FFU galore. The opening paragraph is what caught my eye.

Since artists can have a great influence on a society’s thinking, how can we get artists and hipsters to make metric “cool” and “hip” in this country. Obviously a “cool” celebrity can take an unknown phrase, make it “cool” and have it very much a part of the pop culture in a matter of weeks or months. For example, the phrase “bling-bling” was unheard of a few years ago, but can now be heard on American radio and TV as a slang term for flashy jewelry. If metric could somehow be made “cool” and “hip” it would be accepted really quickly. How can we make metric “cool” and “hip” in America? Any ideas?
