I see that sort of thinking in the same way as telling someone who rides a horse that he's self-centred because he won't drive a car!

Dear Jim,

I take your point on the word 'selfish -- I should have used the word
'self-centred'.

What I was trying to get at was the idea that some folk would have all old
pre-metric units legally available because, 'I don't want to change my
mind'.
