All I see in the above is muddled thinking. I'll happily stand corrected by
any spokespersons from either of the associations  but the aims of USMA and
UKMA are the same, namely to complete the process of metrication in their
respective countries, and BTW metrication means the complete adoption of the
metric system for all practical purposes, or as near as they can get it.

How else can this be achieved except by putting all non-metric units out of
use?
