Stoves (the ones I've seen) have a dial with arbitrary numbers, usually 1 through 9, or a set of radio buttons with similar arbitrary numbers. I burned a couple of meals before figuring out that the numbers on the stove here don't correspond to the ones at my previous home. Would it make more sense to calibrate them in watts per square decimeter or in degrees Celsius?
