Credoinlesum identified the one case I was thinking of in my earlier message
(the case where a weight larger than the pound is used so that the resulting
number for body weights is less than 3 digits long).
She/he* also pointed out that, even though the stone of weight has been defined,
it is not used in the US and there is no movement to do so. Surely if there
were a big problem with the use of 3-digit numbers, someone in the US would have proposed we add the stone to our "system" of measures so that we
could "more easily weigh ourselves". :-)
