Bill & friends:
.....Hello Does anyone have any idea when the 24 hour military time.....
This is NOT authentic BUT my guess that it was invented along with GRID distribution to pin-position a target dividing Earth into 24-Hour Angle zones lettered A thro Z (excluding I & O) East to East (15 x 24 = 360 degree) and North to North likewise. Since there was difficulty in reconning East thro East over the globe, it got resolved to "establish location of Greenwicih 180* away from ZERO longitude", which gave us 12-hours either side of ZERO longitude East or West. Possibly it got its name MILITARY time, since used by armed forces during first World War. German & Britsih forces used this extensively during World War II.
I would like to have New input, if any.

John:

You're making the common mistake of characterizing 24-hour time as military
time. The military uses 24-hour time because, quite understandably, they
don't want any ambiguity. They certainly didn't invent it. These days,
almost all countries use 24-hour time for schedules (radio, TV, conferences,
meetings, etc.).

24-hour time has been with us ever since the day was divided into 24 hours.
A more relevant question is why and when it was subdivided into two 12-hour
periods. I don't know the answer to that. Students of horology probably do
know it, though.

Hello Does anyone have any idea when the 24 hour military time was
developed. I tried to find it on Google but couldn't seem to. Thanks
