Title: Metrication demonstrations
Dear All,
I think that one of the strongest ways to lead a metrication transition is with demonstrations. If you can design and implement a successful metrication program in such a way that your success can be demonstrated to others this is a very powerful pathway to metrication.
I believe that the 'demonstration effect' is a powerful one and that the metrication movement has yet to adequately understand and embrace it. I also believe that, at this stage in the history of metrication, real and practical demonstrations should be a primary focus of metrication people.
Regardless of what one may think about the part our political system may play in producing a metricated world it seems to me that the prime action sand innovations will occur at the edges and margins of our societies. Politicians are largely followers not innovators. A big challenge for metrication people is to create a critical mass of 'proven' examples and to use these as examples for others.
