Just a moment! If I attacked you, I'd be hurling 4 letter words and insults at you. You mistake corrections to your errors as attacks?

Whoa!

Why are you attacking Stephen as it is "his side?" He clearly stated that
the anti-Europe view is one that is out there, not his personally. I
believe he said he is firmly in the "free to choose" camp although I do not
believe it to be the practical one.

No worries, Phil, he's been attacking me on the BWMA site too. Hopefully people will know by now that I like this sort of character. I'm not too sure it looks too good for the pro-metric "side" however seasoned posters can easily seperate out the well versed from the fantasist. I've had plenty of very good debates/arguments with pro-metric people to realise that there are other sorts too.

Anyway, my guess is that while most people feel metrication should be
completed. As Stephen says, it is just not at the top of their priority
list. I would also hazard to guess that many people feel very nihilistic
when it comes to getting things to change on such a grand scale.
Unfortunately, both the UK and the US seem to take the "evolutionary rather than revolutionary" approach. Who knows, it just might work. I would just
like to see it in my lifetime!

Phil

I think Carlton posted the opinion that most people feel metrication should be completed, having returned from the UK recently. I personally believe in the evolutionary route but I understand why some people prefer the reveolutionary route. I don't agree with these people however that's fine - it adds to the debate and the world is big enough to have more than one opinion.
