What is the connection between someone being pro-EU and pro-metric?

But being one does not imply the other? I still don't understand why the pro-imperial side doesn't acknowledge metric is a world thing and not just something only Europeans use.
You'll have to ask someone who's pro-imperial - if you remember I am one of those people that don't exist - the "pro-choicers"
Metric *is* a world thing, and so is imperial to a lesser degree.
