Since they were samples rather items for sale, maybe the USA package size labeling rules don't apply.

Subject: [USMA:33500] Metric only samples in the newspaper

The home-delivered Washington Post comes in a plastic bag in case it’s raining when the paper is delivered.

Sometimes the plastic bag is larger and there’s a sample of some product embedded in it.  To recycle the bag the product has to be taken out.

On Sunday, July 3, there were two sample pouches of something called GourMayo, a flavored light mayonnaise product from French’s, the yellow mustard people (www.frenchsfoods.com).

One was Caesar Ranch and one was Wasabi Horseradish.

I only looked closely at the pouches today (July 10).

Each had this at the bottom:  NET WT. 15g

Nothing else.

Did the labeling change pass and we didn’t hear about it?

Is French’s boldly forcing the hand of the government?

A little bit of progress to brighten a too-hot day.
