A good time to do this is coming up soon:
National Metric Week, Oct. 9-15*

That's as good an excuse as any to write one or more legislators encouraging them to support metric conversion and efforts to remove impediments to voluntary metric use., etc. Of course, ANY time is a good time to do those things, but Metric Week gives us an "excuse" to call our legislators attention to the issue. (It's also a good time to call school teachers' attentions to metric and/or tovolunteer to speak to classes.)
