Recent visit to the local bookstore yielded a coulple of pleasant surprises.  The sequel to the classic D.G. Hessayon book, The House Plant Expert , has gone fully metric.  As opposed to its predecessor, The House Plant Expert: Book Two is all centimeters and Celsius.  The book is out of the UK, but it's widely recognized in the US as one of the must-haves for anyone interested in house plants.  It was good to see that it was not dumbed down for the American market.  Congratulations are in order to Dr. Hessayon for his decision to go metric.

The cover photograph on Dieting for Dummies shows an apple encircled by a measuring tape.  Very much cliche, only that the tape is marked off only in centimeters.  Thumbs up to the cover designer :)
