What you are talking about in NJ are traffic circles. They are very different from roundabouts. Traffic circles are remnants from the 1920s and 30s when they seemed like a good idea. As traffic levels grew, they were no longer efficient. BTW, traffic circles only have one lane here. The state has been eliminating them over time. Roundabouts are designed for lower density traffic, suburban areas, usually around town centers. I now return you to your regularly scheduled metrically oriented programming... Phil
