I think the lady who first posted "butterfly29" actually hit on the possible flaw in the diagnosis when she said that her daughter had been suffering the hair loss problem continuously since she was a baby. She wasn't born with long hair and if it's length were the reason it would only occur after it had grown long enough to become a problem.

I wouldn't like to say whether the diagnosis was right or not but if the lady isn't satisfied then her best course of action would be to seek a second opinion.

On the point about the calculation Pierre you probably lost most (probably all) of them when you (correctly of course) expressed the weight in micronewtons.
