Problem is, any email list can be exploited by spammers.  Maybe a spammer has 
subscribed and is
archiving posts?  Maybe they do queries to the email list that provide email 
addresses?

There are many ways.  Don't think that there is some magic button to be pressed 
that says "keep this
private."
