This is an interesting point. There are about 300 firms that are
members (from their list at
http://www.fmi.org/facts_figs/memberlist.htm). Most of us buy from
various firms on the list (in my case, Albertson's, Dan's Markets),
so they will be more receptive to letters saying "Hey, please sell us
metric products!"
These retailers and wholesalers have influence in several directions:
as customers to the manufacturers, as members of the FMI, and as
employers (which congresscritters pay attention to).
Anyone care to write a "model" letter or two we can use to send to
the retailers? The link above has links to all their web sites, which
will mostly have "contact us" pages.
