I used the list of companies on the FMI web site:

to send a memo to six companies that do business in my area and are members of FMI, and to the Florida Retail Federation which is also a member of FMI.

My memo went to:
Florida Retail Federation
Winn Dixie
Harris Teeter
Kmart
Publix
Sears
Walgreen
Walmart

My memo was the following, with the company names in the blanks:

I appreciate products that are packaged and otherwise labelled in metric sizes. I understand that _____ is a member of an organization that is lobbying against the use of metric mearures. That organization is the Food Marketing Institute (FMI). Please let FMI know that _____ does not support their efforts against metric and that _____ has at least some customers who prefer metric measures ove old English measures.
Thank you.

Bill -- thanks a bunch for posting this. I will send out a few copies this weekend, with some minor edits, just to change it a bit.

Other list members -- anyone else willing to jump in here?
