Several days ago I applied for a Brazilian visa. I filled out the form (in
Portuguese) and went to a nearby Wolf Camera to get my picture taken. The
form asks for a picture either two inches square or 3 cm * 4 cm. Wolf does
not have a metric camera, and I wasn't going to have them crop it on a shear
that has the marks beginning at 4 cm. What I ended up doing was cutting the
sheet into two strips of three, then cutting one picture off the end of one
strip, then cropping that one so that my face is in the rectangle, then I
sent all six to the consulate.

1. Why is the Brazilian consulate asking for anything in inches?
2. Why is it asking for two different sizes? Passport pictures should be the
same size worldwide just as passports are.
