The words "and thus" seem to indicate that somehow it is supposed to be obvious that if it's electrical it must automatically be in watts (and the unstated but erroneous corollary that if it's NOT electrical it can NOT be in watts). It shows that there is still a wide spread misunderstanding that watts only measures ELECTRIC power (or even that "watts measures amount of electricity", whatever that might mean).
