For me, at least, cm is really easier.  I am 176 cm tall.  When I do stuff with lumber, I measure to the centimeter, and if I am measuring something already built, I say to myself, "that's [for example] seventy-five five" for 75.5 cm.  It is just like saying someone is six-six for 6.5 feet.  Saying seventy-five five seems easier to me than saying or thinking seven hundred and fifty.   But...different strokes for different folks.   HARRY WYETH
