We're having our house re-roofed. Can you hear the hammering above my
head?

When I met with the contractor who provided me with the bid, I gave him
my business cards from the College of Charleston and for my company,
Metric Methods.

I just found out that the GAF shingles (Timberline 30, architectural)
are metric! They measure 337 mm by 1000 mm (Pat, that's a meter ....
grin!). GAF also makes them in "English" size. I'll have to remember to
ask him if he ordered the metric size because of my interests or
because his crew is Hispanic. He did say that they could measure in
both sets of units, when I asked him after watching them lay out the
snap lines.

The applicable website for these shingles is at
   http://www.gaf.com/General/GafMain.asp?Silo=RES1&WS=GAF
I noticed that the document providing description and directions
contains data in both "English" and in metric. That's the case for both
the "English" and the metric shingles, by the way.
