I understand that distance signage in Ireland had been in metric for quite some time already, but that speed limits were still expressed in mph until January 2005. Or were the speed limit signs a mixture of both mph and km/h until the changeover. There was a lot of talk about the official changeover to metric speed limits in January 2005.
