The English mile is 1.609344 km
The Scottish mile is 1.8073 km
The Royal mile is 1.707 km (converted from one mile 107 yds)

The average of the English and Scottish miles is 1.7083 km, so the Royal
mile is very close to being the average of the English and Scottish miles.
