It strikes me that one of the best ways to get supermarkets etc to actually join us, is to contact them and show them that there's lots of interest in changing to metric.
So, I encourage everyone to mail Whole Foods before the end of the month (so they get a lot of interest and don't write off the single email as an anomily): http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/contact/contact.html As a general rule, if someone contacts a supermarket etc asking for Metric, everyone should contact them in a (reasonably) short period (say, less than a month). Just sent the following to Whole Foods: I'd like to be able to use the measures I use in cooking when buying at Whole Foods without having to go through annoying conversions every time (in my case, metric). I would deeply appreciate it if metric scales were available and meat/fish/produce were priced in metric so I could use my preferred units of measurement when shopping. It would also be nice to see Whole Foods have using metric as a policy and support the Permissable Metric Only Labelling amendment to the FPLA (http://ts.nist.gov/ts/htdocs/200/202/forum/forumdir.htm) -- End dual-measurement, let's finish going metric! http://www.metric.org/
