Hello All,
Some US products are already labeled only in metric
units. The Utah-based Young Living therapeutic essential oils company uses
nothing but milliliters in their labeling and advertising.
Also, Part 15 AM realty transmitters (0.1 watt
Medium Wave transmitters that US and Canadian realtors and businesses use to
advertise homes and stores in conjunction with "Tune to XXXX kHz AM on your
car radio" signs) use 3 meter long wire antennas, as mandated by both countries'
telecommunications authorities (the Federal Communications Commission in the
US). In the advertising and labeling of these transmitters, the term "3
meter antenna" is used without the equivalent in feet. This is somewhat
surprising, since the user does need to know if there is enough space along the
floor or (vertically) the wall or window in a room to string out the
antenna. The transmitter manufacturers apparently believe that their
customers are aware enough to know how long a 3 meter wire is without having to
translate it to US legacy units, which is a good thing.
