The EU Directive on metrication officially endorses the use of mm Hg for
measuring the pressure of "body fluids".  I guess that since it is universal
across all of Europe (and most of the world) and also since a 1% error would
not be significant, that is a good enough reason.

The ultimate test of course if two doctors from different countries, both
working for "Medicin sans frontiers" use the same units in the same
situation, then the case for change is weak.
