The grass inside the standard 400m track is 1.36 ha. The area of the entire track depends on the number of lanes. And when they ask (duh) how long 100 m is, I tell them it is the length of a 100 m dash in a high school track event, or 1/4 the way around a running track. It is nice to see that in Latin American countries, even those with zillions of US tourists, real estate is sold by the hectare-- or at least usually. HARRY
