On our side of the pond, where we probably have identical printers to you (apart from the voltage), we curse the variety of US paper sizes because everything defaults to 11 in by 8.5 in and we have to override the default to get A4.

I was kind of surprised at this but I've never seen metric paper sold or available anywhere in the US.
