It surprised me that a "mid-sized car" weighs 1622 kg.  There is a sign in
one of our local car-parks that restricts vehicles using the car park to
those under 1.5 tonnes!

I wasn't surprised that the metric units weren't used as a basis for most of
the original weights.  What was interesting was the fact that the
medically-related figures were given to ridiculous levels of precision in
both metric and USC.   I would have assumed that organ weights, etc. would
have been pretty even in kilograms.  

Looks like I have too much time on my hands as well, eh? :)
