There is a very simple answer.  In Europe, car performance specifications
are carried out in accordance with a Europe-wide specification by
government-regulated inspectors and the figures from those tests are the
figures that are published in the literature (and which governments use to
tax the vehicle if they choose to have different tax bands).  Obviously the
test specifications are in metric units.

I happened to come across a news article about the Bentley Continental GT
and decided to check out Bentley's website. Come to find out all specs on
the page are in dual unit.

I have to admit though that hearing torque in anything but ft-lbs of force
or engine power in kilowatts is slightly weird, but one thing I noticed that
was odd is the acceleration from 1-100km/h was a tenth of a second faster
than acceleration from 0-60mph. 

Any particular reason why?
