Jim:
Great picture and nice story about Pat Naughtin. We met at the Smithsonian
during his visit to DC to discuss metrication and his experiences.

Subject: [USMA:39260] Naughtin farms in metric
Attached is a picture of Pat Naughtin sitting on my new Massey Ferguson 1540
compact tractor. The tractor is entirely metric--hence the ease with which
Pat, owner of Metrication Matters, fits on the seat.
Pat visited my farm a couple of weeks ago during his recent trip. Among
other sights, we took in the 78 m tall Fall Creek Falls (reputed to be the
tallest falls in the US east of the Rockies). As always, the visit with Pat
was delightful. Believe it or not, we actually discussed a few things that
did not relate to metrication--such as our lovely wives, food, farming, and
chickens (chooks). Metrication did account for a fair amount of our
conversation, though.
Disclaimer: Though I let Pat sit on my tractor, I never gave him the
ignition key, lest he might try to drive on the wrong side of the furrows.
Grin.
Jim
