There's an earlier USMA thread (around August 1st, which unfortunately seemed to die quite quickly) as well as a thread on http://gometric.us/jforum/posts/list/94.page about the proposed rule change to the labeling laws on alcohol.
A copy of the proposed ruling is attached to the gometric.us forum page or you can dig through http://www.regulations.gov (the link to regulations.gov on the forum page doesn't work due to the design of the regulations.gov site and the text version doesn't include the images that are part of the ruling so I recommend the PDF). For those who don't have time to read the whole thing (it's 26 pages, but only about 14 of those are really required reading), I've posted my notes from reading this document at http://gometric.us/xwiki/bin/view/Blog/2007-9-02-TTB We have a chance to make this change into a pro-metric one. To do so, we all need to write letters pushing for metrication to the TTB. I'll post my letter on the blog when I have it finished and it'd be useful if everyone posted thier letters either here or on the gometric.us site so others can add to them (note that the letter you send is part of the public record). There are requirements to public participation as part of section VIII which you should read even if you're not going to read the rest of the proposed ruling. Note that comments need to be in no later than October 29 2007. It would be particularly beneficial if the USMA could write an official letter on USMA letter head (or use the website submission system and identify your letter as officially from the USMA).
