METRICATION
The NIST has drafted changes to existing legislation which will allow metric
only labels on products in the United States. Now is the time to make these
changes permanent law.
The International System of Units (SI) is the international standard metric
system which virtually all countries are using.
Many products, including automobiles, made in the US are designed and made
to SI specs since the SI is a coherent and standard system.
For example, a millimeter (mm) of rain in one square meter has a volume of
one liter (1 L) of water and weighs (has a mass of) one kilogram (1 kg).
Therefore, 1000 L or 1 kL (kiloliter or cubic meter) equals one metric ton.
Very simple. So let's get the government out of the way and allow industry
and commerce flourish.
