A local paper (from the county next to ours) carried an Associated Press
story about Betty Lynn. who played Thelma Lou on "Mayberry RFD" as well
as many other roles. In the story it says she "moved more than 3,375
kilometres to Mount Airy". No equivalent value in miles is given. That
and the "-re" spelling of kilometers makes me suspect that a
non-American writer penned this article.
The paper's online edition is available only to paid subscribers so
there's no use my providing a link. But you might find it on AP's
website, with a Mount Airy, NC dateline.
