Awesome!  I hope you mentioned to him how much fun he's not missing.

Though, in my experience, the same statement ("I can do SI blindfolded but 
don't know customary at
all.") applies to a lot of people who think they don't know metric.  Ask a 
random American how
many grams in a kilogram, then how many ounces in a pound, and see which one 
they get right.

For an encore, ask them about milligrams and grains!
