Doesn't work in Firefox/WinXP either. I've seen formatting problems like this
in a lot of online
versions of magazines, even the venerable American bastion of SI, Science News.

Speaking of Science News, there's a really interesting article this week about
a new
super-accurate form of measurement that apparently makes laser interferometry
look clumsy by
comparison. It's called atom interferometry, and they actually use atom waves
(i.e. the quantum
mechanical wave nature of supercooled atoms) the same way that laser
interferometry uses light
waves. This is far more accurate than using light, due to the much smaller
wavelengths of atom
waves. But also, atoms have significant mass and can hold a charge, so these
gadgets can be used
to measure all sorts of other things, like gravity and electromagnetism,
super-accurately. I
can't legally copy-paste the article here, since it's copyrighted and
subscribers-only.

So life is good in metrology-land. They might need to introduce some new
prefixes to SI! :-)
