It doesn't matter to the person buying the property, but it will matter to me 
if I ever survey across the state line; South Carolina uses the international 
foot, whereas North Carolina uses the US foot.

The statics book recommends expressing final answers with three significant 
figures, unless the first is 1, in which case they should have four. 
Intermediate results, including unit conversions, should be more precise.
