Media editors are the bane of our existence! Has anyone else read this article and pulled their hair out?

Editor:

This is not for publication, but an effort to get you to improve the Journal.

Why, oh why, do you insist on dumbing down metric measurements to confusing "customary" ones when doing so leads to confusion and complexity? In Tuesday's article on "green" vehicles, you publish a chart with photos of four vehicles and specifications such as "111.9 miles on a charge", "497.1 [miles] with backup gasoline engine", "range of 62.1 miles", and so forth. Couldn't you bring yourselves to just say 180 km, 800 km, and 100" in these instances? Nice round numbers?

Do you think your readers are so stupid that they do not understand these simple numbers and the usefulness of the metric system? Will you never change?
