So what is a metre meter? – A device [meter] for displaying length [metre].

Dear Martin,

I own such a device. It has a little wheel that causes a counter to increase as the wheel turns. The counter is calibrated in metres and tenths of metres — clearly it is a metre meter and I will label it accordingly. Thanks for your insight.
