Topics of metrication that may be relevant to scientific and technical communicators include standards of style and usage, and issues of translation or localization.

My article "Metrication policies and technical communication" summarizes a current state of metrication for technical communication.

Issue 2008-3 of _The Exchange_ STC SciComm SIG:

Although the metric system of measurement is sometimes mentioned in reference books used by technical communicators, there does not yet appear to be a comprehensive survey of metrication policies and practices for technical communication.

Such a survey might help in answering questions about the extent of metrication, or the use of the metric system, in the United States. How metricated is the US? How much is metric part of daily life in the US?

Best wishes for a productive metrication month, week, and day!

Cheers!

Ron
