A friend and I were talking about how we'd be able to tell that metrication is complete in America. I would say that it has gone metric when:
1) Seven-Eleven changes its front door tape measure (the one glued to the side of the door allowing employees to gauge the height of thieves) to meters. 2) A news report states that a certain Pennsylvania town (or, name your state) is "about 100 km west of Philadephia (or, name your city)." 3) Restaurant menu steak sizes are 300 g, 500 g, or 700 g (or 2 kg if you're in some places in Texas, and I'm serious!) 4) WANTED posters state the wanted person's weight in kilograms and height in meters. 5) Overpass clearances are stated in meters.
