Some of the neoconservatives involved in that were in the Bush administration (e.g., Elliott Abrams, Deputy National Security Advisor and former Iran�\Contra plotter; Richard Armitage, Deputy Secretary of State and another former Iran �\Contra plotter, John Bolton, whose job during Bush’s first term was as Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and National Security (then U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations); Vice President Dick Cheney, who was CEO of Halliburton at the time of PNAC’s inception; I. Lewis Libby, Jr., Dick Cheney’s indicted and convicted [with sentence commuted by George Bush] former chief of staff; Peter Rodman, Assistant Secretary of Defense for National Security and a Henry Kissinger protégé; Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense; Paul Wolfowitz, former Deputy Secretary of Defense and later head of the World Bank; and James Woolsey, former CIA Director.)
