I listened to both speeches and there was no mention of metric.  Governor Kaine
mentioned in his speech that they received over 30 000 questions.  So it would
appear that any question dealing with the metric system got buried in the
heap.  Is there any serious economist that can be counted on to state that
metric conversion would save millions of jobs and boost the economy?  This is
the only way Obama will include metric conversion in his plan.

I don't want to put down Obama's plan, but he should know that stimulus plans
don't work.  They never did.  Every time they try to make things better they
only make them worse.  The ups and downs of the economy are just normal
features of our capitalist system.  We just have to ride it out like our
ancestors did during the great depression.
