So I finally found my Honda solution:
Just picked up an '06 Accord LX that does NOT have a temperature gauge. It has a hidden setting in the instrument cluster that can display temperature in F-only, but only if you pick up the official Honda temperature sensor and electronics module. Also it's a little hard to get at, as you have to reach through the steering wheel and toggle a button on the instrument cluster, which I think sets back to odometer after a while. So I skipped the whole thing and went here: http://www.mitocorp.com/auto-dimming-mirrors.html which is a rear-view mirror with a built in compass and temperature gauge. Look through the specs and you'll see it's F/C switchable, and also illuminated so you can see it at night. It's designed to fit a standard rearview mirror mounting, and has the self-dimming feature for night driving that people tell me is pretty good. The price shown is list, I ordered on Amazon for $179. Little saltier than some of the cheap things you see on the web, but I figure it will look better and last for a while. I'm looking for a late model Accord with a temperature gauge of course in Celsius. So far the one that comes with it is hard-wired F only, and when I try to find detailed instructions (jumper setting, etc) or the counterpart model in Canada I come up blank. The US F-only model is part # 08E71-SDA-100. Anyone have any suggestions? Nat No virus found in this incoming message.
