Heard some comments by Locke on NPR this morning, something to the effect of 
needing to ensure that the US remains technologically competitive and that its 
goods can compete in international markets.  I agree that, knowing little else, 
this guy may be more friendly to, for example, the pending FPLA revision.

Methinks the gods and goddesses smiled upon us when Gregg bailed out as 
Commerce nominee so that Gary Locke could be nominated.

He was guv here in Wash State before I moved here but what I've heard in bits 
and pieces about his "reign" have all been quite good. Better luck for 
metrication with him than the Republican, I'm quite certain.
