Let's be fair here Brian. What clue does Stephen give that he's referring to a car made last century? I could tell you that I had an official UK set of Imperial Standard Weights on display in my house. If I didn't mention the fact that they've beem out of calibration for nearly 9 years, would you still consider me to be debating fairly? As far as I recall (and we can look back up the thread if you wish), he didn't actually ask the question you ascribe to him in quotation marks. The two questions I recall him asking Stephen were in the present tense. I don't remember either question referring to measurement units that cars were made during the last century. It's pretty obvious that historic US & UK cars were likely to use imperial units. I would expect discussion on this thread to relate to the situation today unless SPECIFICALLY pointed out as about historical unit use. But yes. You're right. This subject has been debated to death. Stephen was egging you on a little bit by not coming clean with the type of car, but still. He's not pawning an old Mini off as something modern, he simply said not all cars are made in metric. There was no timeframe attached to that statement.
