I have *always* maintained that with road signs I would like to see them stay
imperial. This will run counter to the majority opinion here on this forum,
naturally. And I fully expect that. But it's based on a safety and cost
argument more than anything else. On most other subjects I am much more 'on
the fence' or sometimes even pro-metric (my view on medicine, for example). I
will admit I am fond of imperial measures because of the history of their use
in the UK but does that make me an anti-metric nutcase? I really hope not -
after all I tend to use millimetres for short measures myself - wouldn't that
make me a hypocrite?

It's telling that you address us in your note below as "Ken" and "Stephen" when
only one of those is the correct name. Doesn't that say something about truth
and honesty?

Although Lee ('Ken') will see this as a 'victory' of sorts I recommend you
think again about what has been said and the means used to say it. If you have
any doubts then do ask pertinent questions - either publicly or privately.
I've had to defend myself against Lee's bullying attempts - I wonder if he
could stop posting, in the main, threads simply about me? Does he want me
silenced? Is it healthy to have an opposing view silenced? Certainly not by
those who have emailed me privately. What is 'Ken's' role on this forum - one
that I have been on for years and years and one he has only been on for a
couple of weeks (seen any improvement here in the last couple of weeks?).

Please try to see through the personal stuff - there is a reason for that (a
mistaken one) but it's not all bad having a vendetta orientated stalker! (it's
quite an interesting insight in to human pshychology - something else I'm
interested in).

cheers

(The real) Steve H

P.S. Although dissapointed, I'm not in any way saddened by what you say below -
recent scary/dangerous events 'close to home' have reinforced my view on
enjoying and getting the very most out of this one life - something which I
have experienced as far more precious than the way people measure things. It's
an awakening thing- having that 'new leash' moment (something I've never
experienced before) !
