Pat, I disagree with your claim that a package sent from Boulder weighed in ounces will arrive in Geelong in grams.
The last time I went to the post office to have something weighed for shipment, I was never told the weight, just the cost. But, for a package going overseas, we must fill out a customs declaration and any measurements on them is in pounds and ounces only if originating in the US. So if you ever received such a package, you will see the weight in pounds and ounces, not kilograms or grams. I can't investigate this right now, but you might start at http://www.upu.int If you sent me a package from Boulder weighed in ounces at your local Post Office, it would assuredly arrive in Geelong in grams having travelled from the borders of the USA weighed in grams by the shippers. The UPU connection might provide another string to your bow. Cheers, Pat naughtin Geelong, Australia On 2009/03/19, at 7:35 AM, Robert H.
