I'm sorry to burst your bubble, Pat, but the original plan is scaled 3/16" = 1' 
0" (i.e., 64:1).
 
At the bottom left of the original plan is a reference bar, implicitly 
identified as being 12 feet long (going from -4 feet to +8 feet in 4-foot 
increments). The New York Times only action was to put a less elaborate bar 
near the top of their own rendition of the plan.

It's a pity, because I wish you had been right.
